Bartow, Fla. (September 17, 2017) — With electrical power restored to almost all of Polk County, Points of Distribution (POD) for water and MREs will close at the end of the day, or when their supplies run out, on Sunday, September 17.

Residents in need of water and food are able to get two cases of water and one case of Meal, Ready-to-Eat, commonly known as MRE on Sunday. The MRE is a water-activated self-contained complete meal.

POD locations opening at 8 a.m. are:

  • Dundee – Community Center, 603 Lake Marie Drive
  • Fort Meade – Fort Meade Park, 1205 NE Ninth Street
  • Frostproof – First Baptist Church, 96 West B. Street
  • Haines City – Lake Eva Aquatic Center, 321 S Sixth Street
  • Lake Wales – 1750 Longleaf Blvd.
  • Poinciana – Community Center, 395 S. Marigold
  • POD location open at 10 a.m. on Sunday is:
  • Polk City – 124 E Palmetto Lane
