The Free Teacher Market provides an avenue to help us get school supplies into the hands of students! The Free Teacher Market helps local teachers receive much needed classroom supplies and materials to aid students and increase lesson quality. As an added bonus, your support helps to lessen the burden on teachers’ budgets. Visiting teachers shop without spending a penny out of their own pocket. Do you want to be apart? Donate much needed new school supplies and gently used office items to the Polk Education Foundation's Free Teacher Market.

"I just want to thank you for allowing me to attend the Free Teacher Market. I received materials that will be very helpful in my classroom. I am a first year teacher at Bartow Middle School. Some of my students do not have materials needed on a daily basis. The supplies I gathered while shopping at the market have benefited a number of my students. These students are so very grateful when they receive the supplies they need. Thank you again."~ Bartow Middle School Teacher

The Free Teacher Market is a distribution program that accepts new and gently used donations from your home, office or business. Companies might consider donating excess inventory, surplus or marketing items. The Free Teacher Market then makes these donated items available free of charge to Polk's public and charter school teachers. Due to the generosity of community donors, the Free Teacher Market is open two to three times a month from September - May. See the link below for a list of requested items that you may have around your house or office. YOUR donations help make a difference in the lives of students and teachers in Polk County!

"I wanted to reach out to you to thank the sponsors of the Free Teacher’s Market! As a first time teacher working in a Title 1 school we encounter students who have different needs, one of them being financial. The Free Teacher’s Market has allowed me to be a helping hand to some of my students who need school items. I also appreciate so much that not only I’m in a school that I love, but that the Free Teacher’s Market chose me twice to pick items that I needed for my high school students. I found paper, pencils, highlighters, markers, crayons, and coloring pencils, among many other essentials.

Sponsors are a blessing to teachers, and I hope we can have their helping hand for the sake of our students’ education.

Thank you, thank you and thank you!" ~ Haines City High School Teacher

"I really enjoyed my trip to the FTM, it was a wonderful experience and I was able to get some great, much needed items and supplies. I just wanted to take the time to send a shout out of THANKS to the sponsors that donate to the Teacher Market and express my gratitude for the opportunity to be able to get supplies for my classroom and students. Being a 1st year Reading Teacher, it was overwhelming and this trip helped me tremendously. I was able to find reading materials on 'before, during and after reading' activities that I needed. My experience was exciting, seeing all of the great items that were there for the taking, such as reading materials, pencils, paper and books. My students and I are now able to complete class projects with the colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, and flip charts that we received. We are happy that I was chosen as a recipient of the supplies that we utilize daily. Lastly, with the supplies I received, I was also able to bless a couple of the students with backpacks and spirals. Therefore, again we want to say, Thank you." ~ 10th grade Literacy Teacher Auburndale High School
