#14: Matching Frames and Revealing Master Clips

Match Frame
Matching frames is very useful when comparing effects applied to videos from their original. By hitting the f key on a frame that your playhead is over, Match Frame will look through your original videos and find that exact frame and place it in the Viewer. For example, below I have applied color corrections to a clip in the timeline and it is showing in my Canvas. I hit the f key to perform a match frame, and now I can quickly look to see the before and after effects.

Revealing Master Clips
There are often times when you're editing a video on the timeline and you need to figure out which video clip that is in the browser. If you only have a few clips, this isn't really a problem, however, this can be very troublesome and time consuming if you or students captured multiple clips as "Untitled." To solve this problem you can use the Reveal Master Clip command.

  1. Double-click the clip to load it into the Viewer.
  2. Press Shift+f to reveal the master clip.
  3. Your clip should now be selected in the Browser.
