#4: Create a Still Image from a Video
It is very simple to make a still image from a video clip in FCP.
- Place the Timeline Playhead on the frame you want to make a still image from
- Select Modify > Make Freeze Frame. This creates a still image in FCP's Viewer window
- Drag the image from the Viewer window onto your timeline.
If you setup FCP according to our FCP Quick Reference Guides, the still image will be 5 seconds in duration.
