1. Tired of having to log-in to the archive? Or tired of prompts for pop-ups or downloading a file?
You can get around that by making some changes to your Internet Explorer settings on your work computer. Follow the instructions in this document. Note: There are some computers that this may not work on. We feel it is due to program versions and/or computer settings.
2. Help! My Contacts, Notes and/or Tasks disappeared from my Outlook!
Many people noticed that their Contacts, Notes, and Tasks folders were missing all or a portion of data. We apologize for the scare! Projects of this scale often hit a speed bump at some point. The good news is that all of your data is in the archive and can be restored back to your mailbox with a few easy steps. (It is recommended that #1 be completed first)
- Click on your Mimosa Archive folder and login if prompted
- Go to Browse and select the checkbox next to the folder you wish to restore
- Check the Include Deleted Items checkbox (UNcheck Include History)
- Go to the Folder Restore Option drop down at the bottom on the folder pane and choose Restore Folder to Mailbox
- In the Choose Folder box, select the desired Target Folder > OK
NOTE: If a Choose Folder box does not pop up, you may need to Allow Pop-Ups. Choose to Always allow pop-ups from NearPoint.
- Another box will pop-up letting you know that you can check the status, click OK
- You may now go to the folder in Outlook and see if the data is there. Sometimes it may take a few minutes to restore the information.
Note: We've learned that Personal Distribution Lists were not archiving properly and, therefore, not fully recoverable. Some recovered lists are no longer functional. The PCSB and Mimosa Systems have corrected the issues so it will no longer be a problem. However, existing lists may have to be re-created.
3. When I go to my archive, I get "No Records Found".
Possible reasons:
- The "Include Deleted Items" checkbox is UNchecked. It must be checked in order to retrieve results.
- In Browse view, if you're at the top level of your mailbox, you will see "no records found". Select a folder below the top level, such as Inbox or Sent.
- In Browse view, if you selected "Six Months Ago" from the "Current As Of" drop-down. If you choose to look at a time before the archive began archiving, there will be no records to return.
4. When recovering a message or folder, I do not see a Choose Folder box after clicking the Restore to Mailbox option.
Pop-Ups may be blocked. Look toward the top of the archive window and see if there is a yellow information bar asking if you want to allow pop-ups. Choose to Always Allow Pop-Ups from NearPoint. After allowing pop-ups, please follow the above listed steps again. We are working on a way to eliminate this prompt. (The Fix: follow steps in #1)
If you don't see the Folder Restore Option at all, the resolution of your screen may need to be adjusted or you may have to scroll down to see it.
5. When I'm in my archive, sometimes a bar comes up along the top and asks me to install an Active X Control or if I'm sure I want to Download the File. Is it ok to download the file?
Yes, this archive user interface is a web interface; therefore, you may receive pop-ups, notices, or errors as you would in Internet Explorer. You will have to tell it to Download the File every time you want to open a message from your archive. (The Fix: follow steps in #1)
6. I find the message I'm looking for and try to open it, I get the Download File box. After I click Yes, the window "resets" and I have to find the message all over again. Why?
This is a known issue and has to do with Internet Explorer Security settings. (The Fix: follow steps in #1)
7. I run a Search to find a message or group of messages and try to restore them. The Pop-Up blocked bar appears and after I click Allow Pop-Ups, the window "resets" and I have to run the search all over again. Why?
This is a known issue and has to do with Internet Explorer Security settings. After you select to Always Allow Pop-Ups from Nearpoint.polk-fl.net, you should no longer receive the error. (The Fix: follow steps in #1)
8. Oops! I moved messages into my Mimosa Archive folder. How do I move them out?
- Right click on the Mimosa Archive folder > Properties
- Click the Home page tab and uncheck the "Show home page by default.." check box > Apply > OK
- The messages can then be dragged from the folder
- Once all the messages have been moved out, right click on the folder again and RE-check the "Show home page by default.." check box > Apply > OK
- Outlook may need to be closed and re-open to see the archive interface again.
9. Oops! I created sub-folders in my Mimosa Archive folder. How do I move them out?
Folders may simply be dragged out of the folder or deleted.
10. I use a Macintosh computer, is the Mimosa Archive compatible?
We recommend accessing the archive via the Safari browser.
