Mammogram Screenings are covered as part of the Board sponsored health plan. The convenience of onsite screening saves time for our employees and is less disruptive to the classroom because the teacher is not required to leave campus. Service is provided by Lakeland Regional Cancer Center.
Skin Cancer Screenings now follows the guidelines as listed by the American Cancer Society with preliminary screening to be started at age 21, and every 3 years thereafter and performed annually after age 35 and our employees realize a cost savings and enjoy the convenience of on site screenings. Service is provided by Lakeland Regional Cancer Center.
The ABCs of Diabetes is a program designed to provide essential medical screenings (cholesterol, triglycerides, hemoglobin A1c, kidney function, blood pressure, yearly dilated eye exam and podiatry foot exam), diabetes education, and dietetic counseling to employees and retirees of the Polk County School Board covered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
