The Polk County School Board approved the following appointments by Superintendent Jacqueline M. Byrd during the School Board’s Oct. 25, 2016 meeting:
Ms. Casper previously served as a mathematics coach for Jesse Keen Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in exceptional student education, and a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Warner University. She also has a specialist degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
Ms. DeShazor was previously an assistant principal II at Lake Gibson High. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Florida Southern College, and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.
Ms. Porteous previously served as the division chief of employer-employee relations for the Maryland State Highway Administration. She has a bachelor’s degree in human sciences and counseling from Florida State University and a doctor of law degree from St. Thomas University.
