New Polk County Public Schools Administrators Announced

August 24, 2016

The Polk County School Board approved the following appointments by Superintendent Jacqueline M. Byrd during the School Board’s Aug. 23, 2016 meeting:

Shauna Bergwall, Assistant Principal for Highland City Elementary
Ms. Bergwall previously served as a literacy coach for Wendell Watson Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.

Kelly Burgess, Principal of Wendell Watson Elementary
Ms. Burgess previously served as an assistant principal for Cleveland Court Elementary. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of West Florida, and a master’s in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Bucky Day, Assistant Principal for Kathleen Middle
Mr. Day previously served as a testing coordinator at Kathleen Middle. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental horticulture/business from Florida Southern College, and a master’s in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Jenna Kaczmarski, Director of School Nutrition
Ms. Kaczmarski previously served as the district’s senior coordinator of school nutrition. She has a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and food and nutrition, from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She also has a master’s in public health from the University of South Florida.

Peter McDougall, Assistant Principal for Bartow Elementary Academy
Mr. McDougall previously served as an academic coach at Chain of Lakes Elementary. He has a bachelor’s degree in physical education K-12 from the University of Central Florida, and a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.

Alissiea Wilder, Assistant Principal for Stambaugh Middle
Ms. Wilder previously served as a mathematics coach for Daniel Jenkins Academy. She has a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Webber International University, and a master’s in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
