More ways to keep up with the latest news from Polk County Public Schools:
Three Bethune Academy teachers were recently selected to present at the National STEM Tech Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. Ann Mailloux (5th grade), Amanda Bataille (5th grade) and Jessica Fredricks (music specialist) focused their presentation on “The Integration of STEM and the Liberal Arts.” The trio shared how trade books are used as springboards to launch multiple journeys of STEM discovery with arts influence. These dynamic integrated literature units help students understand their personal connection to the world around them.
Each year, the STEM Tech Conference brings together professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to discuss and explore ways to increase student success in STEM areas, how to prepare students for the workforce and to explore how technology can aid in the teaching and learning process.
