The Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) has named Tamara Salgado the 2012 Florida Foreign Language Supervisor of the Year. Ms. Salgado serves as a senior coordinator in the K-12 Curriculum and Instruction Department. She is responsible for secondary World Language Programs and elementary Dual Language Programs.
The award is given to an individual who shows evidence of leadership in the role as a coordinator or supervisor of a Florida language program, generates innovative curriculum and instructional projects and promotes foreign language education through community involvement. Nominees are members of FFLA and Foreign Language Association for Managers in Education (FLAME).
The Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and teaching of languages and cultures. FLAME is an educational organization made up of managers of foreign language programs that are aimed at students of all levels (K-20).
Ms. Salgado received her award during FFLA’s annual state conference held earlier this month.
