Surplus Books, Tellabration!, All-County Chorus

Surplus Books Available To Public

The Polk Public Schools are offering outdated, surplus textbooks and library books to the public for no charge. The books will be displayed and available on Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 5204 U.S. Highway 98 South, Lakeland.

Tellabration!

The public is invited to the Polk Public Schools 7th Annual Tellabration! storytelling event to be held Tuesday, November 18, 6 p.m. at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 5204 U.S. Highway 98 South, Lakeland.

The Tellabration! event is part of an international program that stimulates the love of reading for children through story telling. Students and a professional storyteller will enchant with their tales at this event. There is no admission charge to attend this event.

All-County Chorus

The public is invited to the All-County Chorus performance on Tuesday, November 18, 7:30 p.m., at Florida Southern College’s Branscomb Auditorium. More than 300 students in grades six through 12 from local schools will perform. There is no admission charge. Florida Southern College is located at 111 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland.

Chorus conductors will be Boynton Beach High’s Sterling Fredricks, Florida Southern College’s Dr. Carol Krueger and Paige Pilkington of Lakeland’s Tenoroc High.
