Polk County Public Schools
The October application period for Polk County magnet and choice schools is from Monday, October 6 to Friday, October 31. Applications will be accepted during this period only for students currently of school age. Students applying during this October application period must at least be in kindergarten. Applications will be posted online at www.polk-fl.net under the “Announcements” heading on the school district’s home page. Individuals without computer or Internet access can visit any magnet or choice school or the Office of Magnet, Choice and Charter Schools in Bartow to complete the application on school district computers. The Florida Bandmasters Association Annual Marching Band Festival will be held Saturday, October 25, 5:45 to 10:30 p.m., at Denison Stadium, 400 Avenue A Southeast, Winter Haven. High school marching bands will present music , marching and pageantry. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 years old and under. Tickets will be sold at the gate. Rain date is Saturday, November 1.
