Lake Region High Students Win Awards At State Business, Career-Related Events

Eagle Lake’s Lake Region High had 20 students win various awards at 2009 state events in business and career-related competitions.

Thirteen LRHS students won awards at the 2009 Career Education Clubs of Florida (CECF) state conference in Orlando. CECF clubs at high schools assist students with job-related experience and promote in-depth student investigation into high wage/high skill careers.

Lake Region High students winning state CECF awards are listed with competition categories in parentheses:

Taeler Bamberg (photography), Sarah Bringger (legal office procedures, entrepreneurship), Madison Ciardullo (civics/government, career research manual, human resources), Rebecca Clementi (medical office procedures), Chris Cox (photography), Brandi Davis (hospitality, banking/finance, government, management), Joy DeHaven (career skills and legal office procedures, entrepreneurship, food and nutrition), Lauren Hayes (Web design, accounting, desktop publishing), Kara Hill (business communications), Stephanie Joyce (customer service, banking and finance, food and nutrition, management), Dimple Patel (Web design, banking and finance, financial math and analysis), Michael Pretzie (criminal justice, legal office procedures), Sebastian Turley (graphic design promotion).

Seven other LRHS students won awards at the 2009 DECA career development state conference held in Orlando. DECA is formerly known as the Distributive Education Clubs of America and supports the development of student skills in marketing, management, hospitality, finance, sales and service, business administration and entrepreneurship.

Lake Region High students winning state DECA awards were Chelsea Beaver, Eva Branning, Lindsay Grimmer, Kara Lanpher, Tyler Mancuso, Savannah Riggleman and Brian Trank.
