Polk County Public Schools
The school board will meet in an attorney, client session for approximately 30 minutes during the school board work session on Tuesday, September 23. The work session begins at 8:30 a.m. in the superintendent’s conference room of the school district administrative office. The attorney client session will be held in the general counsel’s conference room.
The public is invited to a Tuesday, October 7 sales tax oversight committee meeting to be held at the school district administrative office , 1915 South Floral Avenue, Bartow. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in the superintendent’s conference room. The sales tax oversight committee, composed of community members, was formed by the school district after voters approved a 2003 referendum authorizing an additional ½-cent sales tax for school construction. A public hearing will held during the Tuesday, October 14 school board meeting to consider changes to school board policies. The proposed revisions would amend policies in the areas of internal accounts, human resource services, instructional services, school administration and technology services. The public hearing will begin no earlier than 2 p.m., October 14 in the auditorium of the school district administrative office, 1915 South Floral Avenue, Bartow.
