The school district’s cable television channel on Comcast has been moved to Channel 7. The channel was previously viewed on Comcast channel 26. There is no change for Bright House and Verizon FIOS subscribers. The school district channel is seen on Bright House channel 614 and Verizon FIOS channel 45.
The channel includes educational programming, school events, school news, a bulletin board, meetings and student-produced work. The channel also broadcasts up-to-the-minute announcements about school closings and openings related to inclement weather or emergencies.

The school board will meet in a special work session at 9 a.m., Monday, July 13 to discuss the 2009-2010 school district budget. The school board will meet in a hearing with the Polk Education Association (PEA) immediately following a previously announced Thursday, July 23 board meeting regarding the advertising of the 2009-2010 school budget.
The July 23 meeting regarding 2009-2010 budget advertising is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and the PEA hearing will commence after the completion of that meeting. The meeting and hearing will be held in the auditorium of the district administrative office, 1915 South Floral Avenue, Bartow.
