2008-2009 Orchestra Performance Assessment Results For Middle And High Schools

The following are 2008-2009 performance assessments for orchestras at Polk middle and high schools. The assessments were judged by representatives from the Florida Orchestra Association. School orchestra directors are listed in parentheses. Locations of schools is also included.

Middle Schools

Superior: Boone Middle-Haines City (Heather Gullstrand), Davenport School of the Arts (Kendra Menzie), Denison Middle-Winter Haven (Michael Lawson), Jewett Middle-Winter Haven (Joshua Dampier), Lakeland Highlands Middle-Al McKenzie, Lawton Chiles Middle-Lakeland (Christina Baker), McLaughlin Middle And Fine Arts Academy-Lake Wales (Gian Carlo Monacelli), Rochelle School of the Arts-Lakeland (Sarah Morrison), Southwest Middle-Lakeland (Al McKenzie).

Excellent: Crystal Lake Middle-Lakeland (Melody Hoffman), Daniel Jenkins Academy-Haines City (Heather Gullstrand), Lake Gibson Middle-Lakeland (Michael Sedloff), Stambaugh Middle-Auburndale (Steven Glick), Westwood Middle-Winter Haven (Melody Hoffman).

High Schools

Superior: Harrison School of the Arts-Lakeland (Matthew Davis), Lake Region High-Eagle Lake (Michael Lawson), Winter Haven High( Michael Lawson).

Excellent: Auburndale High (Steven Glick), George Jenkins High-Lakeland (Al McKenzie), Lake Gibson High-Lakeland (Michael Sedloff), Lake Wales High (Meg Smith).

Good: Bartow High (Corey Poole), Tenoroc High-Lakeland (Joshua Dampier).
