The following public school students were recently honored before the school board for attaining the highest possible scores on subject area components of the SAT and ACT standardized college prepatory assessments. Bartow International Baccalaureate student and Lakeland resident Mark Kavesh had an ACT composite score of 36, the highest possible composite score. He took the test in February 2007. ACT CEO and Chairman of the Board Richard Ferguson noted at the time that 304,000 students nationally took the test in February 2007 and only 30 students achieved a 36. Kavesh was the only student to achieve the highest possible score among 25,000 in Florida taking the ACT in February 2007. Kavesh is currently a senior and member of Bartow International Baccalaureate’s class of 2008.
