FACTS.org, an organization of the Florida Department of Education and the Florida Center for Advising and Academic Support, is offering academic planning sessions for all parents of middle and high school students in public, private, charter and home schools.
Donna Haffner, training director of the state’s FACTS.org, will speak about the state’s ePEP personal education planner and also talk about Bright Futures scholarships, state university admissions, earning college credit while in high school, college applications and financial aid.
She will also talk about career exploration programs for middle school students and how middle schoolers can plan to study for a major area of interest upon enrolling in a high school. There is no cost to attend either of the two sessions scheduled for Polk County.
The two sessions scheduled for Polk County are:
Tuesday, April 22, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Kathleen High auditorium, 2600 Crutchfield Road, Lakeland.
Tuesday, April 29, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Haines City High auditorium, 2800 Hornet Drive, Haines City.
