A work session and school board meeting will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Lakeland’s Tenoroc High, 4905 Saddle Creek Road. The work session will begin at 12:30 p.m. The board meeting will begin at 5 p.m.
A public hearing beginning no earlier than 5:30 p.m will be held during the February 10 board meeting. The public hearing will be held to conduct school board business and consider a special magistrate’s report in the matter of the School Board of Polk County and the Polk Education Association, PERC Case No. SM-2008-15.

The February 24 work session will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the superintendent’s conference room of the district administrative office. The February 24 meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the auditorium of the district administrative office.
A public hearing beginning no earlier than 5:30 p.m. will be held during the February 24 board meeting. The public hearing will consider revisions to the 2008-2009 student progression plan.

The public is invited to a Tuesday, March 3 sales tax oversight committee meeting to be held in the library media center of Chain of Lakes Elementary, 7001 County Road 653, Winter Haven. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. The sales tax oversight committee, composed of community members, was formed by the school district after voters approved a 2003 referendum authorizing an additional ½-cent sales tax for school construction.
