The instructional television program of the Polk Public Schools has been selected as an Apple Exemplary Program for the 2009-2010 school year. Apple selected 38 school programs from across the country for this award.
The Apple Exemplary Program designation is for educational programs that are considered model implementations of Apple products and solutions. Programs selected demonstrated a strong use of Apple technology in education.
In a letter to the school district, Apple cited student use of professional level Apple software and the students’ industry-level technical skills as reasons for Polk receiving the award.
“Your program serves as an example for other schools both locally and nationally,” wrote Apple’s John Couch to the school district. Couch is Apple’s Vice President of Education.
Contact David Yates, instructional television manager at (863) 647-4254 for further information on the Apple Exemplary Award or the school district’s instructional television programs.
