Daytona International Speedway and FDOE Representatives Scheduled to “Rev-Up” Enthusiasm for Reading at Two Local Schools

In an effort to get students to “Take the Lead and Read” the Florida Department of Education has implemented a campaign in partnership with the Daytona International Speedway called “Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! Race Car.” The CLW Race Car, which is wrapped with the CLW and Educational Partners logos started touring the state in December. The appearance scheduled for Thursday, January 24 is the latest stop on the tour aimed at motivating students to read. The goal set for this year is to get students across the state to read for 30 million minutes.


Laurie Lee from the Florida Department of Education’s “Just Read, Florida!” office and Ray Stephens form the Daytona International Speedway are scheduled to speak at Churchwell Elementary and Lake Alfred-Addair Middle.
