Teacher Job Fairs

(May 14th & May 21st)- Late Registration Open for Critical Subject Areas Only

The Office of Recruiting is now accepting late registration requests if you hold or have been deemed eligible to hold a certificate in any of the following critical subject areas:

  • math 5-9 or math 6-12
  • English 5-9 or English 6-12
  • ESE K-12 (must also have a K-6 certificate if teaching at the elementary level)
  • science (General Science 5-9, Physics 6-12, Chemistry 6-12) and
  • Reading K-12

(Late Registration requests will be accepted up until May 11th.)

Please follow these steps if you would like to be added to the Late Registration/Critical Need Areas Interview Schedule:

1. Go to Polk County Public Schools - Job Applicant Registration System to complete and submit an online employment application.

2. Email the following information to: annissa.wilfalk@polk-fl.net:

a. your online application number (i.e., REFID#) and

b. verification of your certification status (i.e., a copy of your Florida Statement of Status of Eligbility, or a copy of your Florida or Out-of-State certificate in one of the critical subjects listed above) and

c. the fair that you wish to attend (i.e., May 14th or May 21st).

The job fairs are scheduled from 8:00-2:00 pm. You will receive confirmation of your approval to attend from the Office of Recruiting. A interview schedule will be included.

 

 

What to bring:

  • valid picture ID
  • copy of SS card
  • 5-10 resumes
  • credential verification/status:
    • copy of teaching certificate (Florida or Out-of-State) or
    • Florida Statement of Status of Eligibility or
    • letter to confer degree

New teachers must meet all of the eligibility requirements to be considered. This program is contigent upon available funding. (See eligibility requirements for more details.)

Veterans Preference

Chapter 295, Florida Statutes, sets forth certain requirements for public employers to accord preferences, in appointment, retention and promotion, to certain veterans and spouses of veterans who are Florida residents. All Veterans requesting Veteran’s preference must complete the form below titled, “Veteran’s Preference” and submit it, along with additional documentation such as DD Form 214, to the hiring administrator for each position for which s/he applies.
