RTTT is the Race To The Top federal grant program that will reward States for raising student achievement and promoting reform. Florida recently became a recipient; Polk’s portion is $14.2 million. The money will be granted over a 4-year span and can only be used within the scope of the federal guidelines. Much collaborative work is being expended locally to create deliverables and meet deadlines.
The School Board of Polk County and the Polk Education Association, Inc. are currently negotiating the Race to the Top scope of work for our district. The work plan is subject to change in accordance with the respective collective bargaining agreements.
Participating Local Education Agencies (LEAs) must address all applicable criteria of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), now grouped into 13 Projects.
Note: As documents are revised, the date they are posted will be displayed at the end of the link.
