Cross school mentorship involves structured collaboration and partnership between highly successful and striving schools designed to improve academic performance of all students.   This model is a vehicle for replicating successful strategies, sharing variety of expertise, and providing school specific assistance. Collaborative relationship between two schools promotes sharing of best practices and assures that each teacher is provided a scaffold of support to raise achievement of her or his students.  Individual needs of each school can be addressed and practices to address areas of need collaboratively developed.   Mentorships can be formed on different levels including administrative, “resource” teacher, instructional staff, subject area specific or grade level.  The collaboration results in identification of focus areas, development of a feasible plan and scaffolded support to reach the school goal.
