The Free Teacher Market is open twice a month for selected Polk County School Board Educators!

Happy Shoppers!

Help us help teachers and students! Donate needed school supplies and gently used office items to the Polk Education Foundation's Free Teacher Market. The Free Teacher Market helps local teachers receive much needed classroom supplies and materials to aid students and increase lesson quality. As an added bonus, your support helps to lessen the burden on teachers’ budgets.

"I would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors of the Free Teacher Market. I was amazed how many supplies that you had which I needed in my classroom. My bag was bursting at the seams when I left, and everything in it was something that I have paid for out of my own pocket at some time. My daughter, whom was waiting in the car for me as I shopped, even commented how every teacher leaving the store had a huge smile on their faces. I feel appreciated when I know that people have donated the money and supplies I need to keep my classroom running as efficiently and productively as possible. As the African saying goes, it truly takes a village to raise a child."

using suppliesSupplies the The Free Teacher Market is a distribution program that accepts new and gently used donations from your home, office or business. Companies might consider donating excess inventory, surplus or marketing items. The Free Teacher Market then makes these donated items available free of charge to Polk's public and charter school teachers. Due to the generosity of community donors, the Free Teacher Market is open twice during most months from October - May. See the link below for a list of requested items that you may have around your house or office. YOUR donations help make a difference in the lives of students and teachers in Polk County!

"I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful school supplies I received at the free teachers market last night. These supplies will really help my students here at Tenoroc High School. We can never have too many pens and there is never enough paper. It was absolutely a wonderful experience and very much appreciated. Again, thank you so much for all the wonderful classroom supplies."

"I was able to participate in my first ever Free Teacher’s Market and was amazed! I have seen the emails since it began, but never took advantage of it for a variety of, what now seems like, silly ideas. Not only was I able to get some basic supplies I had run low on at the end of the year, but I was able to build my classroom library—something I didn't expect to find there!

Thanks so much for taking the time to organize and run this program, and for all you do for us." ~ Stambaugh Middle School Teacher
