How do I apply for a School Nutrition Position?

Step 1: Complete the Online Employment Application

Step 2: Once your application had been approved, you will be notified by phone and given a date for a prescreening conference at the School Nutrition Department.

Step 3: Applicants who successfully complete the prescreen conference and are offered and accept a substitute position will receive an invitation to attend a mandatory orientation session before they can begin working as a substitute. The orientation will include:

  • An overview of the School Nutrition program
  • Basic Sanitation
  • Bloodborne pathogen training
  • The right to know law
  • Drug free workplace
  • Physical Exam / Drug Test (there is no expense to the employee)
  • Fingerprinting (The fee for fingerprinting will be deducted from your first paycheck)

How much will I make per hour?

As a substitute: $7.79/hour
As an appointed assistant: $7.79/hour

All employees start as substitutes
