Hazel Sellers is currently serving her second four-year term on the School Board. She is a life-long resident of Florida, originally from Leesburg, located in Lake County. Mrs. Sellers is retired from the Polk County school system where she worked as a classroom teacher and at the district office as a Gifted Facilitator in the ESE Department. She earned her BS Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and holds Masters' Degrees in Reading Education and Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Sellers serves on the Guardian Ad Litem’s Speak Up for Children Board and the Board of the Drug Prevention Resource Center. In addition, she is a member of the Bartow Rotary and Bartow Zonta Club. She has served as former President of the Florida Association for the Gifted. Mrs. Sellers is also a member and an elder of First Presbyterian Church in Bartow.
