Polk County Public Schools
Lori Cunningham is serving her first four-year term on the School Board and is currently the Chairman of the Board. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 1985. Since October 2007, Mrs. Cunningham has been honored to serve as the Executive Director of the Lake Wales Arts Center. She previously had worked for Progress Energy, Florida Natural and the Greater Haines City Area Chamber of Commerce where she served as Executive Director for ten years.
Mrs. Cunningham is active in the community and is currently serving as a Director on the Boards of the East Polk County Committee of 100, the Polk Arts Alliance, and the William F. Goodling Even Start Statewide Committee of Practitioners. She is a member of the Polk Vision Private Sector Leadership Foundation, the Haines City Chamber of Commerce School Task Force and the Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. Mrs. Cunningham serves as the Board liaison to the School District Audit Committee and the County Commission Value Adjustment Board. She serves on the Florida School Boards Association and Central Florida Public School Boards Coalition. In addition, Mrs. Cunningham is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales, where she serves as President of the Women of the Church and leads a 10th grade girls Discipleship group.
