The Library Media Services Department of the Polk Public Schools is recruiting males to be reading volunteers for students. There will be a meeting for potential volunteers at 7:30am on Friday, November 20th at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center. Call (863) 647-4714 or 647-4710 with questions. Project Hearth and the Polk Education Foundation are partnering together for the fifteenth year to administer Project Fill-A-Bucket. Buckets are given to students in the Polk County public school system who meet the federal criteria as homeless, or who are at risk of becoming homeless. Click here for more information.

A total of $85,000 was raised at the tournaments and due to our match from the Florida Prepaid Foundation allowed us to purchase $170,000 worth of scholarships.
