  1. Provide academic enrichment, including tutorial services to help students meet state and local student performance standards in core academic subjects such as reading and mathematics.
  2. Offer students a broad array of additional services, such as positive youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, counseling programs, art, music, recreation programs, technology education programs and character education programs to reinforce and complement the regular academic program.
  3. Offer families of students served by 21st CCLC programs opportunities related to literacy and educational development. .

Problem-Based Learning

After-School Adventures uses Model Elliciting Activities published by the Florida Deparment of Education as our academic, problem-based learning curriculum.Topics/lessons are based on the new Florida ELA and Math standards as well as the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science. In addition, this year, we are incorporating a variety of fun and interesting PBL lessons from NextLesson.

Please visit CPALMS for a wide array of academic resources used by Florida teachers that are easily adapatable for home use.
