I-4 from the east end of the Polk Parkway to Osceola County line: Construction project: Crews are installing a new Fog/Low Visibility Detection System on Interstate 4 from the east end of the Polk Parkway to the Osceola County line. Watch for intermittent shoulder closures and trucks entering and leaving the highway as crews test the new system and complete final items. Speeding fines double when workers are present. Improvements under this contract include installing wind, precipitation, visibility and atmospheric sensors, thermal infrared cameras, flashing beacon signs and replacing the amber dynamic message signs with full-color dynamic message signs. Expected completion is fall 2017. The contractor is Transcore ITS.

US 98 from Griffin Road to 3rd Street: Maintenance contract project: Watch for northbound and southbound sidewalk closures and crews working close to the road replacing damaged and deficient concrete sidewalk and ADA ramps. Pedestrians should follow posted detours. Estep Construction is the contractor.

US 92 from Combee Road to Berkley Road: Maintenance contracts project: Watch for intermittent shoulder closures and trucks entering and leaving the highway, as crews repair pipes, mitered end sections and driveways. The contractor is Evans Contracting. Expected completion is fall 2017.

US 92 from Jersey Road to US 27: Maintenance contract project: Watch for shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday as crews replace broken concrete mitered ends and driveways on both sides of the road. The contractor is Evans Contracting Services.

US 27 (SR 25) at Bella Citta Boulevard: Maintenance permit project: Crews are closing the northbound right turn lane at Bella Citta Boulevard during the day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for utility locates. Use caution and be prepared to stop as cars may turn from the travel lane.

US 27 at NW Access Road: Maintenance permit project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures Sunday, August 27 through Thursday, August 31. Use caution and be prepared to merge. This project includes asphalt milling and resurfacing, adding turn lanes and a new traffic signal on US 27 at NW Access Road, approximately 0.5 miles north of Interstate 4.                                                                  

US 27 (North of Ronald Reagan Parkway): Maintenance permit project: Crews will close the outside northbound lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while they build a right turn lane and sidewalk, and relocate a light pole. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

US 27 (North of CR 547): Maintenance permit project: Crews will close the outside northbound lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while they build a right turn lane and sidewalk, and relocate a light pole. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

US 27 at the intersection with Main St. / Crump Road:Construction project: Expect intermittent daytime lane closures while crews install light pole bases and conduit. Use caution and be prepared to merge. This project includes new lighting installation along the roadway. Weather permitting; expected completion is fall 2017. Traffic Control Devices is the contractor.

US 17/92 at Ernie Caldwell Boulevard in Davenport: Maintenance permit project: Use caution and watch for workers and equipment close to the road as crews work outside of the roadway. This project includes adding turn lanes and shoulders on US 17/92 at the extension of Ernie Caldwell Boulevard, approximately two miles south of CR 54 (Ronald Reagan Parkway).

US 17 (6th Street SW) from Avenue G SW to Avenue A SW in Winter Haven: Construction project: Expect nighttime/overnight lane closures as crews continue paving and working on signals from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the week. Use caution and be prepared to merge. Work on this project includes milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, signal pole and equipment upgrades, sidewalk installation and repair, curb and gutter changes and driveway modifications. The contractor is The Lane Construction Corporation. Expected completion is late 2017.

US 17 (SR 555) from 21st Street to 1st Street: Maintenance permit projects: Watch for lane closures as crews from Winter Haven install pipe liners in the storm lines. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

SR 546 (Memorial Boulevard) from Interstate 4 to Brunnell Parkway: Construction project: Watch for daytime shoulder closures along both sides of the roadway while crews continue utility work, placing drainage, grading shoulders and concrete pavement reconstruction. Eastbound traffic has shifted onto the new concrete pavement from west of Chestnut Road to Wabash Avenue. Use caution until everyone is used to the new traffic pattern. Watch for intermittent daytime lane closures, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,for construction in the median area between Chestnut Road and I-4. Use caution and be prepared to merge. This project includes reconstructing the concrete roadway, drainage improvements and guardrail work between Interstate 4 and Wabash Avenue, and adding a bike path/trail on the south side of SR 546 from Chestnut Road East to Brunnell Parkway. The expected completion date is spring 2018. The contractor is GLF Construction Corporation.

SR 542 from 1st Street to Buckeye Loop Road: Frontier Communications utility permit project: Expect periodic lane closures while crews load and unload equipment, and workers close to the road, as crews relocate and install new communication facilities on the north and south side of the roadway. Expected completion is spring 2018.

SR 60 from Diesel Road to Hillsborough County line: Construction project: Watch for daytime lane closures in various locations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews continue widening shoulders. Use caution and be prepared to merge. This project includes resurfacing, drainage improvements, guardrail installation and median modifications. The Lane Construction Corporation is the contractor. Expected completion is fall 2018.

SR 60 East from Airport Road to the CSX track:Maintenance permit project: Watch for daytime lane closures while crews install sanitary force main and water main beneath the roadway and along the north side of SR 60. Work will occur near Airport and Acuff roads. Use caution and be prepared to merge.

SR 37 (South Florida Avenue) from south of Alamo Drive to Shepherd Road: Maintenance contracts project: Watch for southbound shoulder closures and periodic lane closures with equipment entering and leaving the roadway while crews work on the ditches. F.W.A.K is the contractor. Expected completion is fall 2017.

SR 37 (South Florida Avenue) at Carter Road and Sheppard Road/Shimmering Drive: Maintenance permits project: Watch for shoulder closures and trucks/equipment entering and leaving the highway as crews continue installing new pipe. Use caution.

CR 559 (Bomber Road) at Gerber Dairy Road and Spruce Road: Construction project: Watch for lane closures with flaggers directing traffic on Bomber Road at Gerber Dairy Road while crews widen the roadway, and begin paving. Use caution and be prepared to stop.This project includes adding turn lanes at Spruce Road and Gerber Dairy Road, and replacing pipes, ditches, guardrail, mailboxes and signs. The contractor is Florida Safety Contractors. Expected completion is fall 2017.
