The focus of the Technology Coaching Program is to provide just in time, ongoing professional development at the school level on digital devices and resources to promote technology integration in the classroom.
2011-12 Technology Coaches
Equipment
- All former technology coaches may keep all equipment earned if they re-commit to the program and remain at the school
- All equipment remains at the school if a technology coach moves to another school
Current/Existing/Former Technology Coach Requirements for 2011-12
- Coordinate and work with existing technology coaches (if any) at your school to deliver technology professional development
- Commit to provide at least 2 professional development workshops per year at the school level on integrating a digital device(s) or resource(s) into the classroom for 5 or more participants
- Complete a simple professional development log each month
- Participate in a video conference with an STS PD Team member. (STS will schedule via email)
Workshops - Instructions for Pay
- Due to limited funding, pay for workshops will continue until budgeted allocation is dispersed.
- Instructions for pay (STRICTLY ENFORCED):
- Special Activity Payroll Form must be submitted to STS within 30 days of the workshop
- One lesson plan per participant for SMART Notebook 10 workshops
- Minimum of 5 participants per Tech Coach Instructor
- Adult school rate will be paid (Maximum: 2 hours instructing workshop - 2 hours follow up per workshop)

Administrator Suggestions
- Encourage & empower former tech coaches to participate in tech coach program
- Utilize technology coaches to provide professional development to staff on digital devices
- Encourage development of a learning community to include all tech coaches in your school
- Encourage tech coaches to continue growing the tech coaching program at your school
- Coordinate with your tech coaches and STS to provide digital device workshops
