This year we will be adding a new category for the older students; a public service announcement video competition about possible alternative fuels and technology in the future. The video competition will be open to middle and high school students.

The Polk County Transportation Planning Organization will be sponsoring the next contest beginning in September. The contest will end January 15, 2010.

The subject will be “The Future of Transportation” in Polk County in the year 2035 and is open to all students from grades 4-8th.

There will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mention winner for all grade levels.  Winners will receive a personalized street name, a trophy, medallion or ribbon.

For entry forms contact Jan Johnson.

Winners will be presented their awards during a Polk Transportation Planning Organization Board meeting in April 2010 which will be televised on Polk Government Access Television.
