A special board meeting originally scheduled for June 9 to discuss and authorize changes in the school district's financial bonding program has been changed to Tuesday, June 23. This special board meeting regarding the bonding will now be held 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 23 in the auditorium of the school district administrative office. The June school board meeting schedule is listed below. Work sessions are held in the superintendent's conference room of the district administrative office, 1915 South Floral Avenue, Bartow. As an energy conservation and cost savings measure, the school board has authorized a four-day, ten-hour work schedule at schools and school district sites, buildings, departments and the district administrative office. Schools, sites, buildings, departments and the district office will be open Monday through Thursdays starting the week of June 8 and closed on the following Fridays: June 12, June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, August 7 and August 14. Please call individual schools, sites, buildings, departments and the district office for their summer hours as the hours of business will vary by location.
The school district will return to its normal five-day schedule starting with the week of August 17.
The school board will meet in a special meeting at 9 a.m., Thursday, July 23. The purpose of this meeting is for the board to authorize the advertising of the tentative 2009-2010 school district budget.
