Potential "Polk Men Read" Volunteer Breakfast Meeting

The Library Media Services Department of the Polk Public Schools is recruiting males to be reading volunteers for students. There will be a meeting for potential volunteers at 7:30am on Friday, November 20th at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center. Call (863) 647-4714 or 647-4710 with questions. Step by step instructions will be provided during a Town Meeting on December 10, 2009 at Polk State College, Winter Haven Campus. The meeting will begin promptly at 6 pm and end at 7:30pm.

2009 Project Fill-A-Bucket

Project Hearth and the Polk Education Foundation are partnering together for the fifteenth year to administer Project Fill-A-Bucket. Buckets are given to students in the Polk County public school system who meet the federal criteria as homeless, or who are at risk of becoming homeless. Click here for more information.

License For LearningThis license plate shows that you care about education in Polk County. When you pay for this plate, the additional $20 will be returned to Polk County classrooms through grants and services of the PEF. The $20 is also tax deductible.
